Argentina judicial Council advances investigations into prosecutors and judges

The Council of the Magistracy in Argentina is advancing multiple disciplinary investigations involving judicial officials. In Bariloche, the summary report against Chief Prosecutor Betiana Cendón has been completed. The investigation follows allegations of abuse of authority, influence peddling, and breach of official duties filed by several judicial officials. The report has been delivered to Cendón and the Presidency of the Council, with conclusions expected to be presented during the upcoming meeting of the Third District.

In a separate matter, the Council of the Magistracy of the Second Judicial District rejected an attempt by judges María del Carmen Vicente and Juan Ambrosio Huenumilla to avoid a disciplinary inquiry. The judges sought to separate their legal standing from a colleague, Daniela Perramón, regarding a labor conciliation agreement. The Council dismissed their administrative maneuver, ruling that the disciplinary process must proceed for all three magistrates to allow them to explain their conduct.
