Argentina kicks off Winter Safari 2026 citizen‑science drive

From July 31 to August 3, Argentina will host the Winter Safari 2026, a nationwide citizen‑science campaign organized by the Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina together with the ArgentiNat platform, the national hub of iNaturalist.

Anyone with a smartphone can photograph or record sounds of plants, animals, fungi and other organisms in urban parks, gardens, reserves or rural areas and upload the observations to ArgentiNat or the iNaturalist app. The four‑day event, now in its fifth edition, aims to create an open‑access snapshot of the country’s biodiversity, providing data for scientific research, conservation projects and environmental education.
