Argentina launches blood donation drives in La Plata and San Juan

The Centro Bioquímico Distrito I in La Plata will hold a blood collection on Monday, 3 August, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its headquarters on Calle 44 N° 470. Participants must pre‑register and can also sign up for the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry during the event.

In San Juan, the Instituto Provincial de Hemoterapia (IPHEM) has issued a new appeal for voluntary donors after a recent decline in blood donations. Rosario Roca of IPHEM warned that while current transfusion needs are being met, a continued drop could jeopardise future supply. The campaign targets healthy adults aged 18‑65 and stresses the importance of donations for surgeries, accidents, oncology treatments, high‑risk births and other emergencies.
