Argentina launches new schools and AI-enabled classroom lab

Governor Elías Suárez inaugurated three new schools in the Banda department of Santiago del Estero province. The ceremony centered on the Fragata Libertad school and included simultaneous virtual ribbon‑cuttings for the Las Abras and Tabla Redonda schools. The new facilities provide classrooms, libraries, computer labs and improved connectivity for 82, 438 and 34 students respectively.

Separately, the Aulab AI‑driven classroom lab was opened in collaboration with the National Technological University and Huawei. The lab features advanced touch screens and “Lisa,” an artificial‑intelligence system that reads students’ facial expressions to gauge engagement. A Huawei representative said, “We focus on digitalisation, intelligence and talent,” while developer Franco explained that the tool supplies teachers with real‑time data on which topics capture or lose student attention.
