Argentina launches teacher and sports club training programs to prevent bullying and grooming

On June 13, the Provincial Education Council of Santa Cruz held a teacher‑training day in El Calafate, titled "Strategies for Prevention and Intervention against Bullying." The event, hosted at Escuela Provincial Primaria No 89, brought together early‑childhood, special‑education and student teachers and was coordinated with the Hospital José Formenti and the Ministry of Development, Social Equality and Integration. Specialists in psychology, psychopedagogy, community mental health and neurodevelopment delivered practical tools for detecting, preventing and intervening in peer‑violence situations.

A separate session took place at Club Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, where the club welcomed representatives of MACFUT (Women Associated with Argentine Football Clubs) for a workshop on bullying and online grooming in sports settings. Club officials, human‑resource managers and medical staff presented strategies for creating safe, inclusive digital and physical environments, emphasizing the link between schools and sports institutions in protecting children and adolescents.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen inter‑institutional collaboration and equip educators and coaches with the skills needed to foster safer, more inclusive spaces for young people across Argentina.
