Argentina launches unified energy subsidy system and deadline for Plan Hogar registration

The Argentine government has introduced the Subsidios Energéticos Focalizados (SEF) program, a unified digital platform (ReSEF) for household electricity, natural gas, propane‑by‑network and 10‑kg gas‑cylinder subsidies. Eligibility requires a family income not exceeding three Basic Basket totals, with special provisions for people with disabilities, Malvinas veterans and residents of popular neighborhoods.

The previous Plan Hogar was abolished; its benefit now appears as a direct rebate of ARS 9,593 per 10‑kg gas cylinder purchased at participating retailers, payable through virtual wallets. Registrations for the new system must be completed by the end of the month to receive the rebate, with limits of two cylinders per month in winter months and one cylinder per month otherwise.
