President Javier Milei heads to Tucumán for 210th Independence celebrations

President Javier Milei will travel to San Miguel de Tucumán on the night of 8 July to lead the traditional "Vigilia Patria" at the Casa Histórica de la Independencia, marking the 210th anniversary of Argentina’s declaration of independence. He will be joined by a large delegation that includes most of his Cabinet, the vice‑president Victoria Villarruel, and about a dozen provincial governors – among them Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza), Juan Pablo Valdés (Corrientes), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Gustavo Sáenz (Salta), Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén), Ignacio Torres (Chubut), Claudio Vidal (Santa Cruz), Leandro Zdero (Chaco) and host Osvaldo Jaldo. The week‑long programme features the midnight vigil, a ceremonial Tedeum, a civic‑military parade, the traditional "chocolate patrio" and numerous cultural shows.

Parallel celebrations are taking place in other provinces: Bell Ville (Córdoba) will host a free gala with more than 50 artists; Jáuregui (Buenos Aires) will stage its historic parade with over 45 delegations; Concordia, Berazategui, Olavarría and other towns are organizing free folk festivals, ballets and concerts. These events combine live music, folklore, rock and local talent, aiming to involve families and tourists in the national commemoration while also serving as a political showcase for Milei’s administration ahead of the 2027 re‑election push.
