Argentina marks International Literacy Day with educational initiatives

In observance of International Literacy Day, educational authorities in different Argentine provinces have implemented initiatives to strengthen reading and writing skills.

In Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz, the Provincial Council of Education distributed pedagogical and bibliographic materials to Youth and Adult Education (EPJA) institutions at both primary and secondary levels. Officials noted that providing literature and mathematics resources is essential for supporting the learning trajectories of adult students.

In San Juan, the Ministry of Education held a showcase of student productions at the Centro Cívico to highlight the provincial literacy plan, ‘Comprendo y Aprendo’. The event featured participation from early childhood, primary, and special education institutions, emphasizing literacy as a fundamental right for student development.
