Argentina marks World School Milk Day with nutrition awareness and milk donations
In observance of World School Milk Day, established by the FAO, initiatives in Argentina are highlighting the importance of dairy consumption for childhood nutrition. La Serenísima is promoting awareness regarding healthy eating habits, noting that according to data from CEPEA and the UCA Observatory of Social Debt, only 2 in 10 children consume a complete breakfast including dairy, bread, and fruit.
In the Villa María and Villa Nueva regions, a solidarity initiative resulted in the delivery of over three tons of Santa Clara powdered milk to community centers and snack bars. This donation, equivalent to approximately 120,000 glasses of milk, was funded by the sale of a 1,000-kilogram “Solidarity Giant Cheese.” The cheese was produced using 10,000 liters of donated milk from local producers and sold to residents to raise funds for the milk distribution.
