Argentina mining sector strengthens technical training and employability
Mining stakeholders and educational institutions in Argentina are collaborating to strengthen technical training and employability within the lithium and copper sectors. In Mendoza, workshops organized with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) focused on creating a roadmap for technical education. These sessions aimed to bridge qualification gaps and establish a Provincial System of Education for Work, emphasizing technical specialties, industrial safety, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
In Jujuy, the mining company EXAR has expanded its academic support through several initiatives. The company participated in the 44th Simultaneous Days of Industrial Engineering Students (JoSEII), providing mentorship and employability workshops. Additionally, EXAR entered a collaboration agreement with the National University of Jujuy, donating 25 kg of lithium carbonate to the Faculty of Engineering to support experimental practices for chemical engineering students.
