Argentina national Down syndrome swimming team trains in Necochea
The Argentine national Down syndrome swimming team is conducting its third training camp in Necochea to prepare for the upcoming World Championship in Albufeira, Portugal, scheduled for late October and early November. The delegation, which includes fifteen swimmers, was received by Mayor Arturo Rojas. The training coincides with the 8th “Todos al Agua” National Tournament, an event celebrating ten years of the inclusion program.
Local athletes from the Municipal School of Adapted Sport (EMDAB) also participated in the national tournament held in Necochea. Representing Balcarce, the EMDAB delegation achieved several podium finishes, including a first-place result by Matías Valcarlos in the 50-meter freestyle. The competition brought together more than 200 swimmers from various provinces to compete in short-course pools, mirroring the conditions of the upcoming international championship.
