Argentina national team and Copa Argentina semifinals update

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) is coordinating several key football events for November. The Copa Argentina semifinal between Boca Juniors and Banfield has been confirmed to take place on November 14 at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza. This marks the first time this edition of the tournament will be held at that venue.

Separately, the Argentina national team is seeking new opponents for the final FIFA international window of the year following the cancellation of a planned tour in Asia. Uruguay and Costa Rica have emerged as potential opponents, with matches tentatively scheduled for November 14 and November 17. Possible venues include La Bombonera and the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in Córdoba.

These international fixtures follow reports regarding Lionel Messi's retirement from the national team. Additionally, discussions are reportedly underway between coach Lionel Scaloni and AFA President Claudio Tapia regarding the renewal of Scaloni's contract.
