Argentina national team announces first squad following Messi retirement FAST-MOVING

Lionel Scaloni has announced a 28-man squad for Argentina’s upcoming friendly matches against Uruguay and Costa Rica, marking the first call-up following Lionel Messi’s retirement from international football.

The roster features several notable changes, including the return of Gonzalo Montiel and the inclusion of young defenders Aaron Anselmino of Chelsea and Mariano Troilo of Parma. Despite a recent jaw fracture, goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has been included in the squad.

Several key players are absent from the list. Lautaro Martínez and Cristian Romero are out due to injuries, while Rodrigo De Paul and Giovani Lo Celso were omitted by coaching staff decision. Additionally, Nahuel Molina and Leandro Paredes are unavailable due to ongoing suspensions.

The first match is scheduled for November 13 against Uruguay at La Bombonera in Buenos Aires, followed by a match against Costa Rica on November 17 at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium in Córdoba.
