Argentina: 'Marcha de la Bronca' protest scheduled for September 19

A nationwide mobilization known as the 'Marcha de la Bronca' is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, to protest against the economic policies and austerity measures of President Javier Milei. Organized by the Frente de Izquierda and supported by over 400 organizations, the protest will feature a central concentration in Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires, with simultaneous demonstrations in cities such as Santa Rosa, La Rioja, and Santa Fe.

The movement has gained significant support from the cultural sector, with numerous artists and musicians, including Miguel Cantilo and the band La Bersuit, joining the call to action. Protesters aim to transform social frustration regarding declining wages, rising costs, and job insecurity into organized political action.

In a separate but related movement, the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) has been conducting public demonstrations, including open classes and free community services in Plaza de Mayo. These actions demand the full implementation of the University Financing Law and compliance with judicial rulings regarding educational funding.
