Argentina observes Education Month and English Teacher Day
Argentina is observing Education Month in September, a period dedicated to honoring various members of the educational community, including teachers, students, and administrators. In response, the Education Commission of the Argentine Episcopal Conference has issued a letter emphasizing the importance of integral formation over mere technical or digital competence. The Commission shared three pieces of advice attributed to Pope Leo XIV: cultivating inner life through reflection, fostering reliable human relationships and shared time to counter digital immediacy, and renewing the vocation of teaching as a form of service.
Additionally, September 2 marks English Teacher Day in Argentina, commemorating the birth of María Adela Agudo, a pioneer in English language instruction in the country. Educators, such as Evangelina Pérez, have highlighted the challenges and rewards of teaching the language in the modern era.
