Argentina opens El Pindó bridge, advancing Santa Fe‑Corrientes trade corridor

On 25 June, the new El Pindó bridge over the Paraná River was inaugurated, connecting the cities of Villa Ocampo in Corrientes with Puerto Ocampo in Santa Fe. Provincial Production Minister Walter Chávez highlighted the bridge’s strategic role in fostering economic, commercial and productive integration between the two provinces, easing cattle and agricultural flows and creating a permanent link across the 3.5‑km river gap.

In Santa Fe, provincial deputy Fernanda Castellani praised progress on the new concession of the Paraná‑Paraguay Hidrovía. She stressed that the navigable corridor moves more than 80 % of Argentina’s agro‑industrial exports, and that a modern, transparent management system will cut logistics costs, boost competitiveness of the province’s agricultural sector and generate additional foreign‑exchange earnings.
