Argentina opens Paso de Sico border crossing and upgrades Bariloche airport road

From June 15, the Salta provincial government fully opened the Paso de Sico border complex for unrestricted cargo, private and tourist traffic, designating it a “Marcha Blanca.” Governor Gustavo Sáenz highlighted that more than $1 billion was invested to refurbish the main building, common areas, housing for Argentine and Chilean personnel, power generators, internet capacity and backup systems, improving connectivity along the Bioceanic Corridor.

In Río Negro, Governor Alberto Weretilneck and Mayor Walter Cortés launched the tender process to renovate Provincial Route 80, the main access to Bariloche International Airport. The project, financed by the CAF development bank, will build a new carriageway, paved shoulders, upgraded signage and other safety measures to support the heavy flow of tourists and residents, and is part of a broader provincial plan to boost tourism infrastructure and local employment.
