Argentina orders completion of Las Armas Compressor Plant

The Argentine government has ordered the completion of the Las Armas Compressor Plant, a strategic infrastructure project intended to strengthen natural gas supply for Mar del Plata and the Atlantic Coast. The project, part of the Gasoducto de la Costa, had been stalled since September 2024 following a decision by the Javier Milei administration not to proceed with its completion.

Following sustained pressure from the Gas Industry Workers Union of the Atlantic Coast (STIGAS), the project is entering a new phase. Camuzzi has begun technical and economic evaluations to determine the requirements for finishing the pending works, and the company SECCO has been contracted to assist.

To facilitate the restart, ENARSA has moved to resolve outstanding debts with the contractor. Once administrative and technical requirements are met, execution is estimated to take approximately six months. Discussions continue regarding the economic framework for remuneration and recognition of costs.
