Multiple fatal and destructive fires have been reported across South America. In San Lorenzo, Paraguay, a 33-year-old man, Francisco Abdel Dejesus Figueredo Gossen, died in a commercial building fire. Investigators suspect the fire was deliberately set by the victim, noting the presence of fuel containers and a barricade at the entrance.
In Moquegua, Peru, a seven-year-old boy died after being trapped in a plastic goods warehouse fire that damaged seven buildings. Meanwhile, in Argentina, a homicide investigation is underway following the discovery of the charred body of 20-year-old Guido Néstor Adriel Rippel inside a burned vehicle in Posadas. Authorities have detained 19-year-old Luciano Reinaldo, the alleged shooter, and 22-year-old Damián C., who is accused of assisting in concealing the body. The motive is suspected to be related to illegal business dealings.
Other incidents in Argentina include a residential fire in Oberá that destroyed a wooden home, and a fire in Córdoba's Guiñazú neighborhood that left seven people assisted and two hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
