Argentina police dismantle narcotics network, seize kilos of cocaine and marijuana

Police forces in Argentina conducted a large‑scale operation across the capital and the province of Salta, coordinating the Dirección Drogas Peligrosas, the Gendarmería’s Unidad de Investigaciones de Delitos Complejos, the Special Operations Kuntur unit and rapid‑response teams. The raids resulted in the seizure of 303 g of marijuana, 3,136 kg of cocaine bearing a dolphin seal, various drug‑related paraphernalia and cash, as well as the arrest of five suspects – two women and three men – who were placed in police custody pending judicial proceedings.

In a separate series of prevention and control actions under the Plan Integral de Seguridad y Prevención del Delito, officers from several urban precincts, the GRIM IV and the GIR carried out vehicle checks and identity verifications in multiple city sectors. These measures led to the detention of several individuals for background checks and the impoundment of numerous vehicles for alleged irregularities, all of which were transferred to the appropriate police jurisdictions for further investigation.
