Juana Mailén Antonich murder case in Mar del Plata
Juana Mailén Antonich, a 24‑year‑old mother of two, was contacted through Facebook with a fake job offer that directed her to a non‑existent beach location in Mar del Plata. She disappeared on the way to the interview and her body was later found on a southern beach, wrapped in a sheet and partially buried under a container.
The autopsy showed multiple injuries, including blunt‑force trauma and knife wounds, indicating a violent assault before death. Two men, Agustín Nicolás Díaz Bartolomé (26) and José Luis Aquino (27), were detained as suspects; both displayed blood stains and facial injuries consistent with a struggle. The investigation is being pursued as a femicide by prosecutor Carlos Russo, while the victim’s family alleges that police delayed recording a missing‑person report.
Authorities are analysing security‑camera footage, forensic evidence and digital communications to reconstruct the events and identify any additional participants.
