Argentina police raid suspect over death threats to President Milei
Argentine Federal Police conducted a raid in Lomas de Zamora against a man suspected of issuing death threats via the social media platform X. The threats were directed at President Javier Milei, his sister Karina Milei, and the Mayor of Lomas de Zamora, Federico Otermín.
The investigation, launched in September, followed reports of violent posts including statements such as “The Milei siblings must be shot” and warnings that the situation would end with many deaths. Authorities also noted intimidating references toward the mayor's minor daughter and repeated hostile expressions regarding the use of firearms against public officials.
During the raid, investigators seized three mobile phones for forensic analysis and a copy of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf”. The operation was carried out by the Federal Police's Antiterrorism Investigation Unit following digital intelligence and open-source analysis. The case is being handled by the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1 of Lomas de Zamora.
