Argentina poll: 65.7% see less sovereignty in government

A national survey conducted by the consultancy Zuban-Córdoba between August 8 and 10 reveals a disconnect between Argentine societal values and government actions regarding national sovereignty and patriotism.

According to the poll, 54.1% of respondents believe the concept of “national sovereignty” is more present in society than before, while 48.3% feel the same regarding the “defense of the homeland.” However, 65.7% of those surveyed believe these values are less present in the positions and decisions of the national government.

The study, which sampled 1,200 individuals over the age of 16 with a margin of error of +/- 2.83%, showed demographic variations. Women were more likely than men to believe sovereignty is more present in society (59.8% vs 47.3%), and older citizens (over 60) held higher perceptions of these values compared to younger demographics.
