PAMI affiliates face 48-hour service suspension by private clinics

More than 100 private healthcare institutions across Argentina have announced a 48-hour suspension of services for PAMI affiliates, scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, and Thursday, October 22. The strike is being led by four national entities: Capress, Acami, Salud Federal, and Clínicas de la Patagonia.

The primary cause of the dispute is a significant gap between medical fees paid by PAMI and the country's inflation rate. According to sector data, accumulated inflation reached 241.8% between December 2023 and July 2026, while PAMI's average payment increase was only 110.55%. Providers are demanding an urgent update to fees and a review of contracting conditions to ensure the sustainability of their services.

While the suspension will affect scheduled consultations, outpatient studies, and planned surgeries, the participating entities have stated that emergency medical care involving life risks will not be interrupted.
