Argentina: Proposal to regulate construction material transport vehicles
The PRO bloc in the City Council has presented a draft ordinance to regulate the movement, parking, loading, and unloading of vehicles used to transport construction materials. The initiative aims to address safety concerns regarding trucks, trailers, and coupled vehicles operated by local construction supply stores.
The proposal highlights that many vehicles currently circulate with deficient road safety conditions, such as lacking mandatory lights, reflective signaling, warning flags, or visibility elements. Additionally, some trailers lack side railings or adequate load containment systems, posing risks to pedestrians, motorcyclists, and other drivers. The ordinance seeks to ensure minimum safety standards and verify that drivers possess the required licenses and documentation.
