Argentine provinces allocate billions of pesos to municipalities for coparticipation and education funding

In Tierra del Fuego, provincial and municipal officials resumed dialogue on the coparticipation system after months of tension. The provincial economy minister presented a draft to modify the calculation base used for distributing provincial funds, noting a 5 % drop in national coparticipation transfers in June and highlighting faster fund‑remittance procedures.

Separately, the Mendoza provincial government approved a transfer of more than 24.9 billion pesos to its municipalities for the first half of June 2026. The resolution earmarked 20.532 billion pesos from municipal participation and an additional 4.396 billion pesos for educational financing, while retaining 1.32 billion pesos to settle pending obligations to social security and other agencies.
