Argentina provinces launch judicial recruitment contests for judges and child‑rights defenders

The Council of the Magistracy of Entre Ríos opened public competitions to fill vacant positions in the provincial judiciary. Applications are being accepted for auxiliary defenders specializing in criminal matters involving children and adolescents in the jurisdictions of Concordia, Paraná, Concepción del Uruguay and Gualeguaychú, with a registration window from 18 August to 7 September 2026. Separate contests for tribunal vocal positions in Concepción del Uruguay, Concordia, Gualeguaychú and a vocal in the Penal Cassation Chamber in Paraná run from 24 August to 11 September 2026. Interested professionals must submit required documentation at the Council’s headquarters in Paraná.

In Tierra del Fuego, the province opened registration for a public hearing to select the Provincial Defender of Children’s Rights and its adjoints. Registration closes on 10 August, and the hearing will be held on 21 August at the provincial legislature. The ad‑hoc evaluation commission, which includes Dr. Jesús Jattar González Saber as the senior defender before the Superior Court of Justice, will assess candidates for the role that oversees the protection of children’s and adolescents’ rights in the province.
