Argentina provincial polls reveal moderate polarization and shifting ideological landscape

A social‑media survey conducted from 5 to 9 July among 500 respondents in Río Colorado and Río Negro showed President Javier Milei receiving a 37.8 % positive rating, 32.2 % negative and 30 % marked as “regular”. Governor Alberto Weretilneck earned 41.8 % approval, 10.8 % disapproval and 47.4 % “regular”, while Mayor Duilio Minieri of Río Colorado obtained 51.4 % positive, 11.6 % negative and 37 % “regular”. Legislative figures received lower scores, and infrastructure projects such as sewage, water and gas works were among the few positively noted aspects.

Consultant Aníbal Urios, commenting on the same provincial data, said “se percibe un cambio ideológico importante”, noting a pragmatic shift in public expectations toward fiscal restraint and state‑led development. He warned that Peronism faces risk in Buenos Aires province if it continues to rely on outdated rhetoric, emphasizing demands for reduced spending and new leadership. Urios added that the ideological shift transcends party colors, pointing to broader societal calls for future‑focused policies.
