Argentina pushes forward cyber security law in Mendoza and national integrity bill

Governor Alfredo Cornejo announced that Mendoza will send a provincial Cybersecurity Law to the legislature, aiming to create tools for prevention, coordination and response to digital crime. He highlighted that "no es una casualidad" that the White Hat Conference was held in Mendoza and stressed the need for a modern state capable of acting when "una persona es víctima de una estafa digital".

Deputy Sebastián Galmarini introduced a national Integrity and Public Ethics Law that would establish a System of National Integrity covering all three branches of government and the Public Ministry. The draft proposes mandatory asset and interest declarations, stricter conflict‑of‑interest rules, anti‑nepotism measures and a digital platform for public access, seeking to move Argentina from reactive sanctions to preventive transparency.

Both initiatives reflect a broader effort by Argentine authorities to strengthen legal frameworks against cyber‑crime and corruption.
