Argentina raises university and commerce wages under new paritaria agreements

Argentina's recent paritaria negotiations have resulted in higher salary floors across both the public university sector and private commerce. University representatives demanded immediate compliance with the University Funding Law, urging that July salaries fully reflect the law's provisions on wages and scholarships and calling for swift collective bargaining and potential force measures if the government does not comply.

In the commercial sector, the new wage tables set minimum salaries ranging from about AR$1,233,585 for entry‑level Maestranza workers to AR$1,299,445 for the highest administrative category, with corresponding increases for cashiers, vendors and other staff. All figures include an 8.33% presentismo supplement and seniority allowances.
