Argentina raises wages for domestic workers with new dynamic salary clause

Argentina's Ministry of Labor officially recognized, for the first time, a collective agreement that includes a “dynamic salary” clause for domestic workers. The clause, added to the labour reform law, allows workers and employers to negotiate pay above the legal minimum based on personal merit and organisational factors.

In parallel, the government issued a resolution updating domestic‑worker wage scales for April‑July 2026. The adjustments total a cumulative 6.4% increase, with monthly rises of 1.8% (April), 1.6% (May), 1.5% (June) and 1.4% (July). A previously agreed non‑remunerative bonus will be incorporated partially into the basic salary (50% in April, the remainder in July). The additional pay for “unfavourable zones” was raised from 30% to 31%, affecting workers in Patagonian districts and the Partido de Patagones. These measures aim to keep domestic‑worker wages aligned with inflation and the new labour reform framework.
