Argentina readies for massive religious gatherings in Salta and Luján
The provincial government of Salta is preparing for the annual Fiesta del Milagro, a religious celebration expected to draw more than 800,000 pilgrims in September. Authorities will deploy a large security and health operation, including police forces, medical personnel and volunteers, to manage access routes, the cathedral area and support the local hospitality sector.
Meanwhile, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Luján in Buenos Aires Province reports that about 20,000 children are baptized each year. Baptisms take place continuously on weekends, with no mandatory fee, allowing families from the capital and surrounding provinces to receive the sacrament in the "Casa de la Madre".
Both events highlight the importance of religious tourism and sacramental life in Argentina, prompting coordinated logistical and pastoral efforts.
