Argentina regulates horticultural hemp production and export
Argentina has established a new regulatory framework for the production and commercialization of horticultural hemp through Resolution 69/2026. Issued by the Regulatory Agency for the Hemp and Medicinal Cannabis Industry (ARICCAME), the regulation targets hemp with a THC content of less than 1%.
The new regime introduces four distinct types of licenses: agricultural production, processing of derivative products (for medicinal, veterinary, nutritional, cosmetic, or industrial uses), related services such as storage and conditioning, and foreign trade. The regulation aims to ensure traceability of products from origin to destination.
Licenses are valid for five years and require annual validation. The initiative is designed to foster a legal circuit for non-psychoactive cannabis, allowing for value-added production and integration into international markets.
