Argentina reports shooting in Santa Fe and stabbing in Salta amid weekend violence
A 20‑year‑old man was shot in the left arm after a football match in Colastiné Norte, Santa Fe province. Police from the Motorized Brigade responded to a 911 call, and the victim was taken by private vehicle to Hospital José María Cullen. Two other people – a 38‑year‑old woman and another 20‑year‑old man – were injured while trying to disarm the attacker, who used a motorcycle chain during the struggle. The incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Agency.
In Salta province, two separate attacks left men in critical condition. In the La Paz neighbourhood, a man was shot and rushed in red‑code to Hospital San Bernardo. In the Solidaridad neighbourhood, a 28‑year‑old man suffered a stab wound to the chest, also transferred to Hospital San Bernardo after initial care at Hospital Papa Francisco. Both cases are being investigated by prosecutors Santiago López Soto and Daniel Escalocín of the Unit for Serious Attacks against Persons, with forensic teams collecting evidence and detaining suspects.
