Argentina tourism balance shows deficit in July 2026

Argentina recorded a deficit in its tourism balance for July 2026, with 830,200 non-residents entering the country compared to 1,228,200 residents traveling abroad. This resulted in a negative balance of approximately 398,000 visitors.

Despite the overall deficit, receptive tourism showed signs of recovery, with foreign arrivals increasing by 9.1% year-on-year. Brazil remains the leading source of international visitors, accounting for 36.1% of arrivals. Air travel continues to be the primary channel for both incoming and outgoing tourists, with international arrivals via air rising by 21.2%.

In the Tierra del Fuego region, Ushuaia reported a historic July, with the Malvinas Argentinas International Airport receiving 60,660 passengers. This included 5,209 international passengers, bolstered by new direct regular flights from São Paulo, Brazil, operated by LATAM and GOL. Additionally, the Tierra del Fuego National Park saw a 14% increase in visits during June.
