Argentina President Milei reshapes ministries, transfers telecom agencies and backs provincial allies
The Argentine government issued a decree reorganising the official communication structure after Manuel Adorni’s departure, merging four subsecretariats into the Secretariat of Communication and Media and appointing new officials such as Pamela Jourdan as Subsecretary of Discourse, Monitoring and Digital Communication.
A separate decree stripped Santiago Caputo of control over Enacom, Arsat and the state postal service, moving these entities under Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli. The change comes as the regulator Enacom reviews a proposed merger between Telecom and Telefónica.
President Javier Milei, Finance Minister Luis Caputo and Santilli signed a cash‑advance of 400 billion pesos to Córdoba Governor Martín Llaryora, intended to finance public works and support his re‑election agenda.
Santilli, under Milei’s supervision, is also leading talks with thirteen provincial governors about resource allocation, electoral reform and the possible use of “colectoras” to place national‑level candidates on provincial ballots ahead of the 2027 elections.
In Misiones, State Secretary Roberto Padilla announced his departure from the Encuentro Misionero bloc to back Governor Hugo Passalacqua, illustrating ongoing realignments within the provincial political landscape.
