Argentina's 2026 Juegos Bonaerenses local stages launch across cities

The 2026 Juegos Bonaerenses entered its local phase in several Argentine districts. In Quilmes, more than 15,000 athletes began competing in athletics, football for persons with disabilities and other disciplines at the Polideportivo Municipal Reinaldo Gorno, with the interim mayor Eva Mieri and sports officials present. José C. Paz hosted the men's futsal tournament at the municipal sports complex, emphasizing municipal‑provincial cooperation to promote youth sport.

Meanwhile, over 250 football coaches from Río Cuarto and surrounding areas attended a regional training program organized by Deportes Río Cuarto and the Liga Regional de Fútbol, featuring experts from the Argentine Football Association youth squads. The event aimed to improve coaching methods, leadership and player development.

In Santiago del Estero, municipal and provincial authorities announced the 2026 Youth Olympiad, a multi‑sport competition for school and club participants that will be held on 4 July at the provincial sports centre, covering activities from table tennis to e‑sports.

All initiatives underline the emphasis placed on sport as a tool for community building, health promotion and talent development across Argentina.
