Argentina rolls out skin and prostate cancer screening campaigns

The municipal health authority of Río Grande, Argentina, opened enrollment for a skin‑cancer early‑detection program. Residents aged 14 and older can register online until 10 June for mole checks on 16 June, with general‑practice doctors conducting the examinations and referrals to dermatology when needed.

The Liga Argentina de Lucha Contra el Cáncer (LALCEC) launched a prostate‑cancer prevention drive tied to World Prostate Cancer Day on 11 June. Men are urged to obtain PSA blood tests and digital rectal exams; registrations are accepted via WhatsApp or in person at LALCEC’s office on Córdoba 344, with appointments offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 16:00 to 19:00. Both initiatives aim to raise awareness and promote early diagnosis of these cancers.
