Argentina rugby team faces injury setbacks ahead of Nations Championship
The Los Pumas squad has arrived in London to begin preparations for the second stage of the Nations Championship, where they are scheduled to face Ireland, Italy, and France. The team faces significant roster changes due to injuries to key players Santiago Carreras and Thomas Gallo.
Carreras sustained a non-contact knee injury while playing for Bath in the English Premiership. While an official medical report from his club is pending, his coach, Johann van Graan, expressed concern regarding the severity of the injury. Thomas Gallo will also miss the November tests following wrist surgery.
To address these absences, the squad has called up Rodrigo Martínez and Mateo Soler. Additionally, Matías Moroni has joined the group in place of Santiago Chocobares, who is still undergoing concussion protocols.
On the coaching front, the London camp marks the return of Mario Ledesma to the national staff as a scrum coach, alongside the addition of defense specialist Shaun Edwards.
