Argentina schedules three‑day holiday in mid‑August
The Argentine national calendar will include a three‑day holiday from Saturday 15 August to Monday 17 August to commemorate the "Paso a la Inmortalidad de José de San Martín". The holiday creates a long weekend intended to boost tourism across the country.
Separately, a provincial decree for the province of Buenos Aires establishes a local holiday on Friday 31 July. The decree grants a day off in the towns of Junín, in honour of its patron saint San Ignacio de Loyola, and Los Indios, marking the community’s 115th anniversary. Public administration offices in the area will be closed, while private sector participation is optional.
Both measures expand the list of non‑working days announced for Argentina in 2024, following earlier July and upcoming October holidays.
