Argentina school gas supply issues prompt provincial upgrades

The Buenos Aires provincial government approved three projects to renovate and expand gas installations at schools in Junín, including the complete overhaul of the gas system at Primary School No. 16 and Kindergarten No. 906 and a kitchen expansion for a kindergarten serving about 120 children. The works were announced by Governor Axel Kicillof and Education Director Flavia Terigi as part of continued investment in public education despite national fiscal cuts.

In Villa Elisa, La Plata, Primary School No. 93 has been without gas for 15 days after the utility Camuzzi removed the meter following a reported leak. Parents report classrooms without heating, cold milk, and uncomfortable conditions. Camuzzi has scheduled an inspection and plans to install a new, higher‑capacity meter, but families await prompt restoration of service.
