Argentina scrubs 58 trade rules, ending Ahora 12, Cuota Simple, Precios Cuidados

The Argentine government issued Resolution 12/2026 and Disposition 534/2026, formally repealing 58 interior‑trade regulations. The move is part of President Javier Milei’s broader deregulation program aimed at simplifying the legal framework, reducing ambiguities and improving market signals for credit and pricing.

Among the repealed measures are 22 provisions linked to the Argentine Wheat Stabilisation Fund (FETA), 30 rules governing the Ahora 12 and Cuota Simple consumer‑financing programs, a complementary norm for the Precios Cuidados price‑control scheme, four regulations that required private schools to pre‑announce fees, and a duplicate rule for adolescent consumer assistance. Officials said the eliminated rules had lost relevance, created distortions and limited businesses’ ability to adjust prices to economic reality.

The administration argues that the deletions will enhance legal clarity, cut bureaucratic burdens and restore price signals, continuing a process that has already removed more than 240 obsolete regulations since late 2023.
