Argentina sees launch of first 100% AI-generated news program

Santiago Siri, a technology popularizer, has launched ‘El Primer Feca’, an Argentine news program produced entirely through artificial intelligence. The service, which debuted in early September on Instagram and X, features AI-generated avatars acting as journalists and specialists covering topics such as economy, sports, technology, and geopolitics.

The system utilizes advanced versions of ChatGPT and the OpenClaw agent deployment tool to automate the news cycle. AI agents scrape real news, write scripts, and generate vertical videos approximately 30 seconds long. The avatars, including a main presenter named ‘Clara Ferrer’, possess defined personalities and use the Río de la Plata accent, though some diction errors have been noted.

The project has sparked debate within the journalism profession. Critics express concerns regarding job security and the potential for content misappropriation, while the creator advocates for embracing technological shifts.
