Argentina sees resignations of ERSEPT head and national sports subsecretary
José Ricardo Ascárate resigned as director of the Ente Único de Control y Regulación de los Servicios Públicos de Tucumán (ERSEPT) after weeks of internal conflict with subinterventor Ingrid Lausberg, including cross‑intimations and accusations of usurping functions. The provincial government appointed former public defender and legislator Eduardo “Lalo” Cobos as his replacement to stabilize the regulator.
Diógenes de Urquiza also stepped down as the national subsecretary of Sports and head of the Ente Nacional de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo (ENARD) following a restructuring that returned the sports portfolio to the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Sports led by Daniel Scioli. In his resignation letter to President Javier Milei, de Urquiza wrote, “Vine con la convicción de enfrentar las viejas prácticas… pero mi experiencia me demuestra que muchas de esas resistencias no siempre están afuera; sino adentro.”
