Argentina sees rise in domestic short-stay tourism

Short getaways have become a major trend in Argentine domestic tourism. According to CAME, nearly 9 million tourists utilized long weekends during the first half of 2026 to travel within the country, favoring nearby destinations that offer outdoor experiences, gastronomy, and nature.

San Antonio de Areco, located 110 km from Buenos Aires, serves as a key destination for traditional gaucho culture. The area features cobblestone streets, museums such as the Gauchesco Ricardo Güiraldes, and various rural workshops and estates.

Ramallo, situated along the Paraná River, has emerged as a riverside destination. It offers attractions such as the Paseo Viva el Río, the old Port of Ramallo, and the Iron Bridge, catering to those seeking nautical sports and river landscapes.
