Argentina Senate seeks to compel Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli to testify
The Argentine Senate is considering a resolution to mandate that Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli appear before the chamber to provide a government progress report. The move follows a period during which Santilli has not fulfilled the constitutional requirement to report to Congress monthly.
While opposition leaders, including Kirchnerist bloc chief José Mayans, pushed for a project to force the official to attend on November 18, Santilli has since expressed availability to provide his first management report on November 25. This development follows a month-long hiatus in Senate debates and aims to address the legislative requirement for the Chief of Cabinet to communicate availability and answer questions from lawmakers regarding government operations.
