Argentina senators visit Tierra del Fuego

A delegation of national senators from the parties Unión por la Patria travelled to the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego on 7–8 August. The group, led by Senator Cristina López and including Juliana Di Tullio, Alicia Kirchner, Sandra Mendoza, Natalia Gadano, Carlos Linares and Fernando Salino, held press conferences in Ushuaia and Río Grande and met with local officials such as Mayor Walter Vuoto and Governor Gustavo Melella.

In Tolhuin the senators met residents affected by gas‑supply interruptions and the removal of meters by Camuzzi Gas del Sur. They also visited the Aires del Sur plant in Río Grande, where workers are seeking to keep production running amid a legal dispute. The visit was presented as a federal show of support for the province amid the economic adjustments of the national government.
