Museums in Argentina, Chile and Mexico unveil free exhibitions in July
The Museo Sánchez Vacca in Villa Mercedes, Argentina, opened a free retrospective of artist Graciela Artaza, showcasing 64 works spanning five decades. The exhibition runs all weekdays in July, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
The Museo Histórico Regional “Juan Pablo Duffard” inaugurated the free “Corazón de Río” show by Claudia Belloni on 6 July. Nine works inspired by the Paraguay River are on display until 5 August, with extended weekend hours.
The Museo Regional de Atacama, Chile, presented the interactive science exhibition “El Despertar de los Sentidos” from 10 July to 1 August. Seventeen modules let visitors explore perception, art, and physics through hands‑on activities, free for families and school groups.
In Trenque Lauquen, Argentina, the Museo Municipal de Artes Visuales will host two new shows – “Mundos posibles”, a collective painting exhibition, and “Existencia incierta” by Agustín Días Saibidet – from 17 July through 6 September, also free of charge.
Mexico’s Museo de las Aves (MUSAVE) in Saltillo opened the temporary display “Arquitectos del Aire” on 16 July. The free exhibit highlights the engineering of bird nests and runs for an unspecified period.
The Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes celebrated its 90‑year anniversary with a free exhibition at Casa Victoria Ocampo in Palermo, Buenos Aires, from 8 July to 21 August, featuring historic artworks and documents.
Finally, Chile’s Departamento Jota gallery showcased Fede Taus’s “Paisajismos” from 10 July to 31 July, a painting series probing how landscapes are culturally constructed, with free admission.
