Argentina soybean output reaches 7‑year high ahead of major research conference

The GEA‑BCR monthly report estimates Argentina's 2025/26 soybean production at 51.5 million tonnes, the highest level in seven years. The central region, covering provinces such as Córdoba and Santa Fe, is expected to contribute about 75% of the total (approximately 38.9 Mt). Despite a loss of more than one million hectares planted, strong yields have kept overall output stable, prompting a projected increase in domestic crushing to 43.6 Mt, up 1.8 Mt from the previous campaign.

With the resumption of normal soybean trade flows between the United States and China, Argentina anticipates a return to regular export patterns and a modest soy import volume of around 6 Mt to support local processing. Truck transport will continue to move roughly 90% of the grain, with key routes 11 and 34 linking the northern production zones to Rosarian ports.

Separately, the Argentine soybean sector will host the ACSOJA 2026 Seminar on 30 June at the Rosario Stock Exchange. Organized by the Asociación de la Cadena de la Soja Argentina, the event will focus on nutrition, pest management and genetic advances to boost yields. It serves as a prelude to the World Soybean Research Conference scheduled for April 2027 in Rosario, positioning Argentina as a global hub for soybean research and innovation.
