Argentina strengthens digital security through education and awareness

Efforts to combat digital fraud and enhance cybersecurity are gaining momentum in Argentina through both educational initiatives and government awareness campaigns.

In Formosa, systems engineer and psychologist Liliana R. Mira presented a seminar titled ‘Emprender con IA en tiempos difíciles’ (Entrepreneurship with AI in difficult times). Organized by the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises of Formosa (CAPYMEF), the session focused on ‘psychocybersecurity.’ Mira warned that the human element remains the weakest link in digital security, noting that cognitive biases, haste, and automatic trust make individuals easy targets for cybercriminals.

Simultaneously, the Chubut Government has launched a provincial campaign to prevent digital scams and promote personal data protection. Managed by the Directorate of Consumer and User Defense and Protection, the initiative provides guidance on creating secure passwords and recognizing phishing attempts. Officials emphasized the importance of using two-step verification and avoiding the sharing of credentials to mitigate the risks associated with increasing daily digital activities.
